2014; New Years Intentions



New year, new start. I love the possibilities and optimism you can feel at the beginning of a new year. This year instead of resolving make changes, I will set Intentions in order to manifest the best year of my life to date.

Resolutions usually fail, within a month, because you decide to make radical changes to your life with immediate effect and these are often unrealistic. To set intentions is a simpler and more realistic way to start the new year because you are being gentle on yourself, therefore you already believe that you can achieve it.  You are simply saying; this is what I intend to implement//manifest this year in my life.You are not setting yourself harsh restrictions or over ambitious goals, you are saying to the universe "This is what I want; please help it happen".


 Intentions carry a forcefield of energy around them because you set the universal ball of 'law of attraction' into motion when you focus your thoughts and energy on bringing something into your life. The more focus and intention you place on what you want, the more emotion you can involve in its imagining, the more likely it is to manifest. When you focus the energy of gratitude and love onto something, the universe conspires to bring it into existence because they are two mighty powerful emotions... and throw in some awesome visualisation; how will it feel, look like, taste like, sound like....and you got yourself a sweet deal with the divine.



How to set your 2014 Intentions:


WRITE IT DOWN

 anything and everything you wish you bring forth this year, just write it down "I will start a blog" or " I will master that yoga headstand". Writing intentions down, physically, on paper, grasps the ideas out of the ether and puts them into your sphere of manifestation.. It also allows you to keep a track on where you're going and what you want to check off over the coming 12 months. The very act of writing down what you desire has a magical affect of brining it into existence. It's like setting an alarm and then your body waking up 2 minutes before, or writing a shopping list and somehow just not having to check it as you go. writing makes things exist in front of our eyes, our minds start to believe we have it and hey presto, youre on your way to galvanising your dreams.


BELIEVE IN IT/YOURSELF 

There's no point in your intention being "I will become an astronaut" unless you really, truly believe that this will or can happen. By all means dream BIG and set yourself lofty goals but make sure they are in the realms of reality in so much that you truly believe down to your core, that it can happen. We human beings are capable of achieving a whole lot, even things we didnt think we could.. so chase that dream, but make sure it resonates with your inner belief system, and your heart and soul gives it the OK.


MEDITATE ON IT

There's some confusion out there about meditation, and I want to clear this up. To meditate is simply to sit and breathe and relax and connect within. There is no magic formula or skill or qualification. You dont have to be enlightened, or practise yoga, or read spiritual texts. You just have to have a pair of lungs and a mind. Sit quietly, breathe very deeply 5 times in and out until you feel more relaxed then continue just to breathe and watch your breath as it enters your nose, and fills out your stomach, and back out again when it wants to. Let it happen, just watch yourself breathe and feel the peace in that. Once in this peaceful state of inner connectedness, you can begin to focus your attention on what you would like to bring into your life and feel the swell of pleasure as you imagine how dam good it will be to get it. Keep breathing, keep focussing on the lovely feelings of intention on your dreams, and revel in your amazingness.


 LET IT GO

If you spend every waking minute obsessing over your goals/intentions, then it's likely you won't let yourself be taken down the natural path of how to get it. Once you have done steps 1-3 then you can relax, forget about it and carry on your life knowing that the beautiful and loving nature of the universe has already started helping you out in achieving your goals. You can return to mediate and focus on gratitude and love for the divine forces that make your dreams become reality and relax in the knowledge that 2014 will be a really, really good year!
